Aberlady Angles

Exploring Aberlady's Anglo-Saxon Past

Aberlady is a small village with a big story to tell. Its roots date back to the early historic period, a time of warriors, holy men, craftspeople and kings. In 2015 and 2016, Aberlady Conservation and History Society (ACHS) will lead an exciting new community heritage project focussing on Aberlady’s Anglo-Saxon past. An eclectic programme of events will provide all sorts of opportunities for involvement, from participation in an archaeological excavation to a range of crafts workshops, and an Anglian feast will form the grand finale! Join us as we learn more about the Anglo-Saxons in Aberlady.

Aberlady Angles is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund and Awards for All, and has also received support from Gullane Area Community Council, the Strathmartine Trust and East Lothian Council.

We are also grateful for the support of the Church of Scotland General Trustees and Agricultural Management (Haddington) Ltd.
